Support The Plastic Surgery Foundation
Invest in the Future of Plastic Surgery
Innovation is the lifeblood of the specialty; fostering artistry and refining skill in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery is the driving ambition to which The PSF adheres. The future success of our specialty relies on proper research and education initiated today.
The Plastic Surgery Foundation’s excellence and leadership within the specialty depend greatly on the generosity of ASPS members. From annual gifts that make an immediate impact to endowed gifts that support future generations of plastic surgeons, contributions to The Plastic Surgery Foundation serve as the catalyst of innovation for our specialty.
As you consider your investment and estate plans, we hope you include The PSF. There are several avenues by which you can give to the specialty:
- Contributing a major gift of cash, appreciated assets or similar tangible property
- Naming The PSF in your will
- Making The PSF an irrevocable beneficiary of an insurance policy
- Selecting The PSF as a beneficiary via your charitable estate
How We Re-Invest in Our Specialty
The PSF serves the entire board-certified plastic surgery community, providing clinical research and registry data to improve procedures, compliance, transparency and organization in the specialty. It’s also one of the most cost-effective fundraising and grant-making organizations in all of professional medical societies. At least 85% of all contributions are directed toward research and innovation.
Clinically relevant research is at the heart of the specialty’s growth. Past research supported by the PSF has improved patient safety, developed original and creative procedures, and enhanced the quality of life for patients around the world. The PSF provides fellowships and awards grant to plastic surgeons to: conduct clinically relevant research for better outcomes; provide data on best treatment practices; emphasize evidence-based medicine for maximum efficacy; develop clinical trial research networks and promote the next generation of outstanding researchers.
The PSF also supports member physicians who achieve individual accomplishments in education, research, and international medical missions which advance the specialty as a whole. The PSF encourages the education of plastic surgeons by sending visiting professors to partner institutions where they lecture and hold informal sessions with faculty, residents, and students.
The PSF will expand its current programs for forging new eras of growth and sophistication, keeping it at the forefront of the specialty. We are at the beginning of a tremendous expansion of The PSF-one that is viable, creative, and holds great promise.
