TIPS Meeting

Technology does, and will remain an integral part of advancing plastic surgery techniques and tools. In an effort to support the connection between industry leaders, researchers, investors, and surgeons, The PSF convened the Technology Innovation in Plastic Surgery (TIPS) conference in San Francisco. Over 330 representatives from all areas of the plastic surgery specialty came together to discuss the pros, cons, and effectiveness of emerging technologies, products, and procedures for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. The success of the conference not only continued to foster the type of innovation and advancement that improves patient safety and care, but it also generated an impressive return on The PSF's financial investment in the conference.

Highlights of the 2011 TIPS meeting included:

  • a global faculty of leading dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and wound care experts who provided attendees with a broad view of innovations that has shaped the industry and offered a glimpse of what products and technologies are on the horizon.
  • interactive discussions with representatives from the highest level of industry that enabled more than 300 active clinicians to share what they desire and need in their practice.
  • a forum for “early adopter” physicians who are able to influence the direction of technology investment in the most meaningful areas.
