PSF/MTF Biologics Allograft Tissue Research Fellowship

Purpose

The PSF and MTF Biologics offer a Research Fellowship to promote and support the career development of junior physician-scientists focused on clinical evaluation and understanding of allograft tissue in plastic and reconstructive surgery, including tissue reconstruction and wound management with allograft tissues in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

It is intended to provide support for research training in projects focused on biologic repair and reconstruction with a strong clinical translation component that utilizes dermal, adipose, placental or other allograft transplant technologies.

The award amount allocable to salary must be for a resident or fellow or plastic surgeon within the first three years of practice to obtain training and experience in research under the guidance of an experienced mentor.

Applications must describe a structured research training plan in addition to a research project. The applicant must demonstrate that his/her career objectives coincide with the timeline of the research fellowship and a long-term commitment to a career in research.

Amount & Duration

Up to $72,500 for up to 1-year projects
*Up to $50,000 for salary support and $22,500 for research
