"Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day (BRA Day) is an annual event that aims to educate the public about breast reconstruction options after a mastectomy, and to celebrate the progress made in the field. It takes place on the third Wednesday of October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Join my staff and I as we commemorate this day with fellowship, fun, and a bevy of great food/ beverages!

Join us Tuesday, October 15, from 5–7 PM for an evening dedicated to education, support, and connection for anyone touched by breast cancer. Learn about reconstruction options, timelines, recovery, scars, sensation, lymphatic care, and more in a calm, candid space. Meet and greet with Dr. Kania and the ARBRA team, Q&A, local vendors with helpful resources, light refreshments, and a splash of fun with a photo booth and free giveaways.

In honor of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, the UCSF Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, in collaboration with medical student organizers, is hosting a virtual community education webinar with plastic surgeon Dr. Merisa Piper on Wednesday, October 15 at 5:00 PM PST. This will include each department in the Weinberg Center for Women's Health at Mercy Medical Center that has a role in helping patients with Breast Cancer. The Breast Cancer Summit is an annual forum that supports breast cancer awareness, education, advanced medical practices, procedures, and technologies. Bringing together industry, hospital, and clinical leaders, this yearly event provides a space for experts in the field to discuss how they are navigating the ever-evolving world of healthcare as it pertains to the fight against breast cancer.

Socially Responsible Surgery, a student run organization at Columbia University's medical school, will be hosting an event for women of color in the Washington Heights and Harlem communities in celebration of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day 2025. The event will begin with a brief 15-minute lecture. The lecture will cover the basics of breast reconstruction and disparities in access to breast reconstruction. Next, we’ll introduce the panelists which will include a breast surgeon, a plastic surgeon, a breast cancer survivor, and a speaker from the national organization The Breast of Us. After a 35-minute panel, we’ll open up the floor for questions from the audience. At the conclusion of the event, attendees will be able to speak with members of the Breast of Us and can pick up educational materials.

BRAce the Facts: Rebuild with Confidence is an educational and community outreach initiative hosted by Albany Medical Center in recognition of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day. The event is designed to increase public awareness and understanding of breast reconstruction options and insurance coverage mandates within New York State. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with clinical professionals, receive evidence-based informational materials, and schedule follow-up consultation visits as appropriate. By facilitating access to accurate information and expert guidance, this event aims to enhance patient education, promote equitable access to reconstructive care, and support informed decision-making among individuals affected by breast cancer.

Our annual Celebration of Survivorship features a panel of survivors who share their journey following their breast cancer diagnosis. Their comments provide inspiration and hope to the breast cancer community.

Family Support and Community Connection Event! Join us at UTMB League City Campus for an inspiring evening celebrating the vital role of family and community in the breast cancer journey. Formerly known as "Ladies' Night Out", this reimagined event feature hors d'oeurvres, heartfelt patient testimonials, interactive conversations with UTMB's breast care team, light entertainment, and a decorated bra runway show honoring creativity, courage, and survivorship. Come connect, share, and support.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Vijay Bindingnavele with Corpus Plastic Surgery & MedSpa in conjunction with Esperanza de Tejas (a 501c3 serving South Texas) invites Nueces County students in grades K–12 to participate in our Awareness through Art contest. This initiative encourages young artists to explore the theme of hope, strength, unity, and support through visual storytelling, while helping raise awareness for breast cancer. 3 selected entries from each age group will receive scholarship awards in recognition of their creativity and message. Winning art work will be displayed around the City of Corpus Christi with local businesses.

Patients, families and friends, surgeons, referring physicians- event to raise awareness for breast cancer and reconstruction opportunities. Educational and fun event to celebrate those who have survived cancer, had breast reconstruction, and those that would like to learn more about breast reconstruction for themselves or a family member.

Engaging with patients and visitors at the Sentara Brock Cancer Center about breast reconstruction including Q&A with Plastic Surgeon, APP, and clinical staff.  Those who visit the table can spin the wheel to answer a question, if answered correctly, will get a gift bag (limited amount).  Will also have our cosmetic staff present for limited giveaway gifts to those who visit our table.

Each year, Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic hosts BRAs of the Bay to help close the loop on breast cancer and raise awareness of the breast reconstruction rights of breast cancer patients and those who need risk-reducing mastectomies. Last year, we raised an incredible $43,000 for the Ribbon of Hope Foundation to support breast cancer patients in Northeast Wisconsin! With over 500 attendees and 50 decorated bras from our community, it was an inspiring night of solidarity.
