Surgeons in Humanitarian Alliance for Reconstruction, Research and Education SHARE
Surgeons in Humanitarian Alliance for Reconstruction, Research and Education (SHARE) is a new program from The PSF that seeks to enhance collaboration to improve care and surgical capacity in regions with limited numbers of plastic surgeons but high incidence of conditions requiring plastic surgery treatment. The SHARE program is tailored to local learners and their environment through three core components: Global Fellows, Global Educators and Global Researchers.
Are you interested in supporting the SHARE mission of building surgical capacity in areas of the world where it is needed most? If so, please click the link below and direct your donation to The Plastic Surgery Foundation to International Service. Thank you!
Global Fellows
SHARE Global Fellows are residents and junior surgeons from around the world who have demonstrated interest and ability in plastic surgery to establish an online community for regular case presentations, lectures, collaboration and mentorship. Global Fellows will receive mentorship and access to online educational materials from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Global Educators
SHARE Global Educators provide mentorship and instruction to the Global Fellows community with teaching opportunities that range from online lectures to short teaching trips to multi-week "Professor in Residence" opportunities (due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, teaching opportunities are temporarily limited to remote learning).
Applications for Global Educators are now being accepted – click here to apply.
Global Researchers
SHARE Global Researchers will receive mentorship from established PSF researchers and be provided access to existing PSF Research Fundamentals resources on grant writing, research methods, data analysis and manuscript writing. The goal is to expand the body of plastic surgery knowledge and shape the development of new research projects to enhance the specialty worldwide.
