The GAAPS Progress Report outlines a comprehensive visit to the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome by the Training Program Director and resident from the University of New Mexico. Led by Program Director Anil K. Shetty, MD, the visit aimed to foster collaboration and exchange between the institutions. Despite some administrative delays, the visit was productive.

Key highlights include:

• Meetings with faculty and residents discussing the GAAPS program and its long-term collaboration goals.
• Surgical procedures and grand rounds covering various aspects of plastic surgery, including breast reconstruction, cleft lip and palate and skin cancer excisions.
• Dermoscopy clinics and outpatient procedures addressing minor skin concerns and cancer cases.
• Presentation of ongoing research projects, including studies on breast implant infections, radiated skin outcomes, functional reconstruction for sarcoma thigh, DIEP flap breast reconstruction and fat grafting in radiation breast cancer.
