Graduate Research Scholarship

The purpose of this Scholarship is to provide tuition support to a plastic surgeon in his/her pursuit of an advanced degree in research (i.e. Master's in Science, Epidemiology/Biostatistics, etc.). A financial award in the amount not to exceed $25,000 will be given to an ASPS Candidate member, plastic surgery resident or fellow affiliated with an accredited plastic surgery program who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing the public's health through their pursuit of an advanced research degree (ex. MPH, MS, PhD).

Chao Long's career objectives include becoming a surgeon-scientist conducting health services research focused on increasing access to high quality, cost-effective surgical care in low-resource settings in both the US and abroad. Specifically, her research interests include disparities in access to and quality of plastic surgical care, developing meaningful metrics for quality of care, and helping expand the global surgical workforce.
